Tehran (ISNA) – “Up to now, 6 UN Security Council’s resolutions have been abolished as a result of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and we hope that arms sanctions against Iran will be lifted until October,” the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Ali Akbar Salehi said.

At the official ceremony of pouring of concrete for the second unit of Bushehr nuclear power plant, Salehi stressed, “۱۳۹۵ days after the JCPOA we made a deal with Russians for two new units that each of them have 1050 MW power”.

About EU and US response to fourth step of reducing Iran’s commitments under the JCPOA, he said, “They have already reacted too much and their think-tanks or politicians are very concern about Iran’s actions”.

“It shows will and decisiveness of Iranian top officials and our colleagues in AEOI achieved these goals in a short period of time,” Salehi added.

AEOI chief stressed, “۱۵ types of centrifuges are currently active in Natanz. This is amazing and unbelievable for them, because they didn’t consider we have such a capacity. It indicates AEOI’s potential and its desire to peaceful nuclear activities”.

“Sanctions were supposed to be lifted instead of some limitations but it didn’t happen. So we don’t have any limitation. Up to now, 6 UNSC’s resolutions have been abolished as a result of JCPOA and we hope that arms sanctions against Iran will be lifted until October,” the official said.

“We haven’t started any commitment breach. They didn’t adhere to their commitments so the Islamic Republic of Iran can’t accept the JCPOA as a one-way road. Even now we don’t violate JCPOA framework and our actions are based on articles 26 and 36 of JCPOA. The articles say if they breached their commitments, we can reduce our commitments too,” Salehi said.

Iran’s nuclear chief emphasized, “We only act in accordance with their behavior and in the framework of our own sovereignty and national interests. We hope they adhere to do their commitments and as our president said many of our actions are reversible if the other sides of JCPOA fulfill their commitments”.
