The Sorayya satellite, launched into a 750-kilometer orbit by the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force on Saturday, has successfully transmitted its first signal to the Earth.

The telecommunication satellite, developed by the Iran Space Research Institute, marks a significant achievement as for the first time Iran placed a satellite in an orbit 750 kilometers above the Earth’s surface.

With a lifespan exceeding three years, Sorayya’s upgraded orbit and GPS position accuracy of 20 meters contribute to its advanced capabilities.

This launch not only places the satellite into operational conditions but also serves as a milestone for testing various subsystems developed by the Space Research Institute.
The successful mission is anticipated to pave the way for the accelerated development of Iran’s domestic space industry, representing a crucial step in enhancing the nation’s capacity to deploy satellites into higher orbits.
