“Enemies of Syria, Iran and the resistance axis were desperate because of their failure in their terrorist and military war against Syria, so they moved to impose economic and coercive unilateral measures, and this is evidence to their failure in their plots,” Qalibaf said on Monday in a meeting with Syrian Ambassador to Iran Adnan Mahmoud, SANA reported.
Syria has always been and will remain on the front line of the resistance axis, he added, reaffirming Iran’s continued support for the Arab country.
For his part, Mahmoud congratulated Qalibaf on his election as the speaker of the Iranian Parliament, stressing the importance of enhanced ties between the two nations, in the field economy in particular.
