Iran launches large-scale inverter production line

Iran’s first production line for large-scale solar power plant inverters was officially launched in a ceremony attended by Deputy Energy Minister Mahmoud Kamani on Monday, the portal of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SATBA) reported.

The line, constructed by Mapna Electric and Control Engineering and Manufacturing, is going to produce inverters with 250 kilowatts (Kw) of power which can be used in renewable power plants across the country.
As reported, the construction of the mentioned production line took one year to complete and in case of need, the power of the inverters produced in this line can be increased.

According to SATBA, the results of performance tests and periodical data collection of domestically manufactured inverters has shown that the quality of electricity output of the inverters is comparable to their foreign
counterparts.

Until now, the inverters required by the country’s renewable power plants were purchased from Western European countries or China.

By indigenizing the manufacturing technology of utility-scale solar inverters in the country, up to 20 percent of the country’s needs for this product will be met, and in addition, the country can also export the product to neighboring countries.
