On the occasion of March 8 and the International Women’s Day, the spokesperson for Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called out the mass killing of women in Gaza by the Israeli forces. Nasser Kanaani took to his social media X account and delivered a resolute statement, calling out hypocritical declarations by those falsely advocating for women’s rights in today’s world. “The spotlight is on the hypocritical stance of these false claimants, who, while endorsing a terrorist regime, deliberately overlook the brutal massacre of thousands of innocent women and children in Palestine. These hypocritical individuals, reducing women to mere instruments, face criticism for violating human, cultural, and social rights,” he wrote.
“This year’s International Women’s Day is dedicated to honoring the courage of the women and daughters of Palestine, providing a platform for the worldwide denouncement of the barbaric Israeli regime,” he added. He underscored the need for the removal of the Zionist regime from UN Commission on the Status of Women.
As the world marks International Women’s Day, the government media office in Gaza has mourned 8,900 Palestinian women killed by Israel since October amid the silence of the international community. In a statement issued on Friday, the media office said Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, has so far killed 8,900 Palestinian women and injured more than 23,000 others, with 2,100 still missing.
Israel initiated its U.S.-backed military offensive on besieged Gaza on October 7, following the Palestinian Resistance group’s Operation Al-Aqsa Storm in retaliation for intensified Israeli atrocities against Palestinians. The ongoing aggression has resulted in the death of at least 31,800 Palestinians, with 72,198 others injured.
