The deputy commander of Iran’s Air Defense Force has disclosed ongoing efforts to develop state-of-the-art defense systems in accordance with new global standards.
Brigadier General Alireza Elhami made the remarks on Monday, underscoring the current emphasis on advancing radar systems, incorporating the latest developments in defense sciences, which are currently undergoing the design and development phase.

Elhami expressed pride in the force’s accomplishments in the realm of defense equipment. He underscored the significance of achieving these milestones despite facing unjust sanctions, particularly for the air defense forces.
Highlighting the transformation in structure, skills, and training as pivotal factors ensuring the air defense forces’ superiority against potential threats, Elhami added, “Fostering high levels of effectiveness, efficiency, and positive performance in human resources has become an integral part of the organizational culture within the defense sector.”

The Iranian commander emphasized ongoing initiatives in communication, electronic warfare, identification activities, and expanding the range of missile weapons, along with the advancement of radar systems.
Elhami also acknowledged that despite facing sanctions, military growth and progress have not come to a halt. Instead, he stated, “The enemies of our nation have spurred our military plans toward innovative and creative ideas.” He emphasized that the army’s air defense forces, regardless of baseless threats, are swiftly addressing their needs and singularly focusing on increasing self-sufficiency.

He clarified, “In our efforts to localize defense systems, the air defense forces have taken significant steps, optimizing previous systems and striving to construct state-of-the-art systems that meet new global standards.”
In the past years, Iranian military professionals and engineers have achieved significant strides in manufacturing a varied array of homegrown equipment, ensuring self-reliance for the armed forces. Authorities in Iran have reiterated the country’s unwavering dedication to strengthening military capacities, particularly in missile capabilities, solely for defensive and deterrent purposes.
