Water resources management in Iran faces challenges and must be directed towards integrated management in this sector, a water field expert from the German ministry of Science and Research said.

Addressng a meeting of the Integrated Management of Water Resources of the Zayanderud River at Isfahan Industrial University on Sunday, Christian Alecke said, ‘There is a need to share support packages to integrate water resources management.’ Referring to the Integrated Management Plan of Zayanderud water resources which was commissioned by the Ministry of Energy and with the cooperation of Scientific University of Isfahan and the German Academy of Science, Alecke underlined, ‘Iran’s plan was one of the most successful programs that would be followed in the second stage.’ ‘The project’s future is particularly important for Germany as it is a bilateral cooperation with sums of millions of Euros,’ the expert said, noting that the German Energy Ministry has invested in the Iranian plan. ‘On the international arena, we can jointly work with the Iranian Ministry of Science so that there is a joint training center between the two countries in the coming days,’ Alecke stressed, noting that there are 300 m Euros annually to support science in the German relevant ministry.
