Based on the released data, 95.54 percent of Iran’s population enjoys natural gas at the present. As reported, 98.57 percent of urban population and 86.11 percent of the rural population enjoy natural gas in the country. It is announced that 1,253 cities and 39,700 villages in the country are connected to the national gas network. The length of the country’s gas transmission lines is 39,219 kilometers. South Pars gas field, which Iran shares with Qatar in the Persian Gulf, plays a significant role in supplying gas to the country. South Pars Gas Company is the largest subsidiary of National Iran Gas Company (NIGC) which operates the onshore facilities (phases 1 to 24) of the country’s giant South Pars gas field. South Pars gas field is estimated to contain a significant amount of natural gas, accounting for about eight percent of the world’s reserves, and approximately 18 billion barrels of condensate. The field is divided into 24 standard phases.
Iran exported more than 210,000 tons of fishery products worth $650 million to 67 different countries in the previous Iranian calendar year (ended on March 19), according to the head of Iran’s Fishery Organization (IFO).
An official at the agricultural organization of Mazandaran province said that 125,700 tons of the kiwi and citrus fruits have been exported from this northern province of Iran since the current Iranian calendar year started (March 20, 2024).
The head of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) said the country has established a SWIFT-like financial system to do business with several countries in national currencies.
